Service Description
Details
CUIT manages a shared high performance computing (HPC) cluster (named Hotfoot) for researchers in the departments of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Statistics, and Economics plus other groups represented in the Social Science Computing Committee (SSCC).
Standard Service Features
For this service, multiple CUIT groups, in partnership with an HPC governance committee, help to design the system architecture, purchase hardware with service contracts (using researcher-provided funds), and manage and provide support for the cluster. The Research Computing Services (RCS) team provides user support, manages the HPC scheduling software, and coordinates interaction with the governance committee.
Service Eligibility
Select researchers in the departments of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Statistics, Economics and other groups represented in the Social Science Computing Committee (SSCC) are eligible to use the system. Information about eligibility and accounts can be requested from the HPC governance committee through Rajendra Bose, RCS Manager (rbose@columbia.edu).
