Details
Rascal provides management of data related to Research Administration and Research Compliance. Rascal is a web-based application developed to simplify the University's research compliance and research administration processes. It is designed to help researchers and administrators manage ongoing research projects and related compliance activities here at Columbia.

| IACUC | Animal Care Compliance - Protocol lifecycle from researcher’s entry of study information through administrative review and approval or full committee review and approval. Also interacts with Granite, the software responsible for ordering of animals and tracking them |
| Proposal Tracking | Proposal coversheet submission, approval routing, and tracking. |
| Environmental Health and Safety | Hazardous Materials Registration. Required course monitoring, approvals and emailer. |
| HIPAA | HIPAA form lifecycle from researcher submission to privacy office/board review and approval. Integrated with the IRB module |
| COI | Research-wide and School of P&S annual COI form filing, protocol specific COI disclosure forms, review and compliance tracking |
| Testing Center | Web courses and testing framework used by all Rascal functional groups to administer training. Integrates with all modules |
| Radiation Safety | Radiation Safety Use Registration. Required course monitoring, approvals and emailer. |
