Service Description
Details
The following modules comprise Student Systems:
SIS - Main student administration system used to administer Student Records, Student Accounts, and Admissions. SIS also contains Housing reference information.
SSOL - Provides a web interface to essential student related information that resides in the mainframe Student Information System (SIS)
PowerFaids – Main system used to administer student financial aid
ADOL - Provides prospective students with a web interface to essential applicant information that resides in the mainframe SIS Admissions module
Standard Service Features
SIS (available to administrative staff)
- Administration of Student Accounts, Student Records, and Student Admissions. Also contains Housing reference data
- Interfaces with internal systems, e.g., GL, IDM, FAS
- Interfaces with affiliate schools, e.g. Barnard, Teacher’s College
- Interfaces with vendors, e.g, ACS (Loans), Infinet (Billing), NextGen (Work Study), Apply Yourself, National Clearing House
SSOL – Major modules include:
- Demographic information, course registration, academic schedule, grading, account information, refunds, direct deposit, Flex and Dining dollar transactions, transcript requests, meningitis certification, insurance enrollment and waivers, graduation certification, emergency notification
PowerFaids – Administration of financial aid and viewing of financial aid information via the following clients:
- Desktop Client – Used by administrators who will be updating financial aid data
- Web Client – Used by administrators who will be viewing (read only) financial aid data
- NetPartner – Used by students to view and act on their financial aid information
ADOL
- Document tracking of student application and supporting materials (recommendations, test scores, etc.)
- Links to NetPartner, the web front end to the PowerFAIDS financial aid system.

PowerFaids – A license fee is required for each desktop client. No costs for the WebClient or NetPartner.

Administrative access to SIS and SSOL is customizable based on user requirements.
Service Eligibility
SIS – School administrators are authorized by the appropriate Student Services Administrator
Prerequisites
SIS - To access the mainframe, requires QWS 3270 emulator on the desktop SSOL – Web browser, UNI PowerFaids – Administrative users require Windows XP, at least 1 GIG of RAM, and a static IP Address. Non-administrative users including students require a web browser ADOL – A web browser
